Two weeks ago I took these photographs in the city I called home for most of my life, New York City. There is something about the downtown area that is so calming and beautiful to me. I walked around thinking about all the warm spring days and crisp fall ones that I sat around on one of the benches I photographed, doing homework in between classes. This area has changed so much throughout the years and walking through the 9/11 Memorial reminded me of that. I left New York just as hurricane Sandy was coming and once again produced change. However, New Yorkers are resilient and they stick together in a time of need. I know it won’t be long until everything looks just like this again! For all of you that have been affected by the hurricane you are in our prayers.
