Isn’t it great that we have a national holiday that encourages us to be thankful?! I have to admit that being thankful can be somewhat of a challenge at times. You know, like when you see that “friend” on Facebook post 500 pictures from the 4 vacations they took this year. Or when it seems like the whole world can’t stop gloating about how sweet and thoughtful their spouses are, and you think you’re the only one not living in a romance comedy ;). Or when the grass is literally greener on the other side, even though you’ve watered it, fertilized it and read Gardening For Dummies! I can go on and on, can anyone relate?
This is why I think it’s so great that we have a day like this. It’s actually one of my favorite days of the year, beating out even my birthday. Instead of looking around at what can be better, I am always overwhelmed by how much I have! It’s my family, my friends and my faith that bless me everyday throughout the year, and that’s a lot to be thankful for. It’s not a day when we exchange gifts yet, it is the most satisfying because I’m reminded again and again to be grateful! So, please lets forget about what we saw on social media or that HDTV we’ll be waiting in line for at midnight. Let’s just hold our loved ones a little closer and not forget to give thanks! I hope you all have a very, very Happy Thanksgiving!!!
One thing I am thankful for is my little guys! They make my life so much better and they always manage to crack me up!
